It's official - I passed my cosmetology state board exams!! I'm now qualified to be a licensed professional!

Today is going to require a lot of tea... My practical boards are tomorrow. Yikes! The only way to keep the nerves at bay is to practice. Umm... I wonder how many times I can run through the test today?
I have the best sister in the world, it's true. Not only has she spent her day being my state board test proctor (so I can practice), she is washing my cholesterol coated doll heads (truly horrific smelly stuff used to mock hair color for the test) . If that isn't love I don't know what is!
Thanks all for the prayers and good wishes this morning! Glad that is done - now to wait for the results and prep for the practical boards, which I take on Monday! In the meantime I'm going to enjoy my post-test treat of mason jar flowers from Whole Foods...
Studying for the written portion of my state boards - test is at 2pm tomorrow eek!! Prayer would be much appreciated!
Tonight I received my diploma from PMTS Woodbridge and officially became "alumni". It still doesn't feel real that I really accomplished this huge goal.
The moment was made all the more sweet because of the presence of my fellow graduates, my friends. How appropriate to celebrate our accomplishment together!!
One of the very best parts if my PMTS adventure was being part of Phase Two! It was such a joy and privilege to work & learn next to these awesome ladies and gentlemen - I miss you all so much!
Its hard to believe I have ended my official time as a student at Paul Mitchell The School - what a challenging, inspiring, and wonderful adventure it was!
I just found out that I don't graduate on Tuesday, like I thought, I graduate TOMMORROW. So Saturday June 7th will be my last day at Paul Mitchell The School - wow!

It's been a long day but a good day - one of those days that the challenge of a complicated salon service is forgotten in the satisfaction and pride of it's beautiful results.

Once again a tragedy reminds me how fragile life is and what is really important. I can't seem to find the right words to say today. All I know is my heart is so full, hurting for Chandale's family, friends and my fellow students at Paul Mitchell who are grieving her loss tonight. PMTS Woodbridge simply won't be the same without her. Today has been a heartbreaking reminder if how fragile this life is and what/who in it is actually important and valuable. ((sigh))
Today I was suddenly reminded of the big picture of life and how blessed I truly am.
The petty things I'd been struggling with and so wrapped up in this morning lost all their importance when a young man blacked out, had a seizure and drove his car into the concrete pillar in front of my school this afternoon. His foot was still on the gas when the car was stopped. Luckily no one was hurt (he had cuts and bruises and may have hit the windshield) but if he had been a mere 12" to the left that car would have missed the pillar and come straight through our glass front building, through the front desk, the waiting area and beyond. I was actually walking toward the front door on my way out for break when it happened.
God was very, very good to us yesterday. Very good indeed.
